In the 2nd part of the series, The Effective Teacher of Dr. Harry Wong’s the idea that Mr. Wong stated was all brilliant, but the idea that I want to own was the idea of Mr. Wong about Classroom Management especially managing the class on the first day of school.
To be honest, I am the person that can't easily memorize names sometimes I call someone with a different name, so the seating arrangement of Wong, was one of the ideas that I will OWN when I start teaching. Giving the students a seating arrangement can excite the students about their seatmate, they can learn new things from one another, and lastly, I can memorize their names in a creative way where everyone can benefit. The second idea that I want to Own was I will not let my student have there owned curriculum. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to make my class one class who is riding in the same boat in the river. And the last idea that I will own is one of the important, especially in Special Education. The moment the student enters the room, there should be work waiting for the student to make them busy. Ones the students are not occupied with work, they'll get bored.
"First Impression Last." Preparedness will make a good impression to the students that will make them think that you are interested to teach them and that will make them be interested to learn. As a future Pre-Service Teacher, we should be prepared all the time and make different things that will excite every student to come to class and learn.

I.
The speaker Harry Wong
of The Effective Teacher stated; 4 stages of teaching the fantasy, survival,
mastery, and impact. According to Wong teachers usually, pass through the
survival stage as quickly as possible. This stated stages can help teachers to
manage the class properly. It can also help the new teachers change their
perspective on how to teach the students. Wong gives examples of teachers
attitude based on the stages. This seminar gives a message to all new or old
teachers.
The first stage was fantasy it is more observed in new teachers. They believe
that being friends with their students and able to relate to them can make them
a successful teacher. The second stage was survival teachers see teaching is a
job where they can get their paycheck. They also believe that if that the child
didn't learn the way they teach it's not their problem. The third stage was
mastery teachers in this stage has high expectations for their students, and
they are the teachers who can manage the classroom. They also believed that if
the students didn't learn the way they teach they need to change their
instruction. And the last stage was the impact this is the stage where the
teacher makes a difference to the life of their students, it is they arrived as
a teacher.
II.
The topic of Wong was relevant not only
to me but also to other Pre-Service Teachers out there. This stages can help us
to be an effective teacher someday. This topic can also be our guide when we
enter our field. Our basis was our performance where we can identify what stage
we are.
This seminar has a relevance to my present
course because I can use this when we are having demo teachings and of course to
our practice teaching, the classroom management he given us can be use to our
future class. It is also relevant to me as a future teacher because this topic
he given us was an eye opener on how we can handle students specially to us
SPED teacher who are handling students with special needs.
III.
I will use the information given by Wong to be an effective teacher. I
can use his strategies and examples to my class to help the students understand
and learn from what I am teaching. As a future teacher, I will used the
information I got in Harry Wong’s talk to be able to get an impact to my students
I will do my best to teach my students at the mastery stage. It is very helpful
to us future teacher because as new teachers we don’t really know the reality
yet in teaching so this seminar helps us to open our minds on what might happen
and how can we address the situations.
IV.
I
can share this seminar to my friends out there who are having a hard time
in managing their class, I can suggest them to watch this seminar for them to
be able to be more confident in managing the class. I can also share this
seminar with my colleagues to help them be productive in teaching the students
I can give them the strategies and examples given by Wong to make them realize
what stage they are now. Being an inspiration to other people is a great
pleasure, so through the seminar of Wong I can be an inspiration to those
teachers who are still having a hard time in managing the class.
V.
The things
that I can adopt to the talk of Harry Wong was to make it a point that I can go
to the impact stage. Being a teacher it is really wonderful if you give impact
to your students life. You gave impact to those students because you did
the right thing, you taught them the way that they can easily understand. I can
also adapt the way how Harry Wong manage his class in some of his strategies
and tips.
VI.
The problem I encounter was there are parts where the speaker’s voice was
un-understandable I don’t know if its in technical aspect or to the speaker. To
the speakers presentation of the slides are too fast that sometimes watchers
can’t able to read it. But overall the content is good and very helpful.
